The Savory Goodness of a Cheesy Toast Snack

This is a really tasty snack that is not too hard to make, and works with both normal cheese and soy cheese, so it is good for those with allergies.

Ingredients: (amount for 2 toasts)

  • About 38 grams of cheese (2 slices of packaged cheese)
  • 1 medium sized egg
  • 2 slices of bread
  • A small slice of ginger (you can adjust the amount according to how ever much you want)
  • A pinch of red chili powder
  • Salt and parsley (according to your taste)
  • A few drops of oil (enough to spread in the pan)


Cut/shred cheese into small pieces.  Next, whisk egg with cheese. Set aside. Mush/cut up ginger into small pieces in a small bowl. Add chili powder, salt, and parsley to ginger. Mix thoroughly, and add the egg and cheese mixture. Now you should have a yellowish gooey mixture. Use a spoon to coat each slice of bread thickly.  Use half of mixture for each slice of bread.  Spread oil on a heated pan, with the heat on medium. Place the two toasts on the pan with the mixture side down. Do this quickly, so it doesn’t drip all over the pan. -_-‘ Wait until the mixture is solid and isn’t gooey anymore, then apply a small amount of oil to the empty side before flipping it over.  Now you can flip it over to the other side.  Be careful, because the side without the mixture will cook quite fast.  After, test the toast with a fork or toothpick to make sure it is cooked.  If it isn’t, then flip it over to cook some more.  If it is perfectly cooked, place it on a plate and… Enjoy! 😉
